AGW COVID-19 Virtual Events News

MESSAGE FROM AGW REGARDING VIRTUAL EVENTS JUNE 1, 2020

ASA Circular 34 of 2020 has bearing.

The extension of the national COVID-19 lockdown to Level 3, declared by President Cyril Ramaphosa, has compelled sport organisations to make some further far-reaching decisions regarding sporting events.

AGW is no exception and needs to find alternative means for our registered athletes in the Province to compete. The only thing that is growing is virtual competitions.

That being said - Regulation 33 (1) (e) specifically requires persons doing exercise to adhere to health protocols. A person may leave his or her place of residence to exercise between the hours of 06h00 to 18h00. Provided that the exercise is not done in organised groups and adheres to social distancing measures.
