ASA CIRCULAR 48 OF 2020

PROTOCOLS TO FOLLOW DURING TRAINING AND COMPETITIONS


Dear ASA Members,


Please find attached:

1. Protocol to be followed during the hosting of competitions, and other athletics related projects.

1.1. Provinces whom submitted their fixtures lists after the required deadline to ASA, are not listed and will be dealt with at a later stage.

1.2. Please note that only licensed athletes are allowed in compete in ASA events.

1.3. No temporary licensed athletes will be allowed to participate in ASA events for the period 1 November to 31 December 2020.

2. List of competitions that were approved to be hosted by provinces during the period 1 November to 31 December 2020.

2.1. Please note that events that took place in congested period e.g. December holiday, where not approved due to the high risk of covid-19 infections.

2.2. Races over longer distances where also regarded as high-risk events.

With regards to return to training, only athletes in possession of a permanent licence are allowed to commence with training, to prepare for the listed events, subject to the covid -19 regulations of the training facility. More information in this regard will follow soon.
