ASA CIRCULAR 42 OF 2020
ASA APPLICATION TO RETURN TO COMPETITION
Dear ASA Members,
ASA Circular 24 and 25 has bearing.
A lot of our ASA Provinces have been continuously requesting ASA for permission to return to competition and fully activity.
ASA appreciates all inputs which have been received from all members in this regard. However, ASA does not have the power to give permission to return to competition as that is the prerogative of the Minister of Sport Nathi Mthethwa. This is because that is the law of the land under the emergency regulations of the National Disaster Act.
In that regard, ASA has now begun engaging the Honourable Minister through the COVID-19 Adjudicating Committee, to allow ASA to return to competition. At this point, we are awaiting a response from the Minister after his due consideration so that we can then return to competition in a limited way.
As soon we have received a response from the Minister, we will immediately give you an update on it and outline details thereof.
ASA would like to thank the ASA Members for the loyal support and for practicing a high level of discipline since 26 March 2020.
